Appraisal & ValuationSCS Management has a long and successful history of valuing companies of all types under many different circumstances Our staff of appraisers has over 40 years experience in the appraisal of private closely held companies for ESOPs, public offerings (IPO), mergers, corporate sales, corporate reorganizations, buy/sell agreements, partnership dissolutions and estate taxes. In our appraisal approach of privately closely held ESOP companies (and others), our appraisers have applied IRS Revenue Ruling 59-60, and amendments thereof, or accepted Industry Guidelines as the appropriate methods for determining the fair market value of a company. In the cases of specific IRS audits dealing with company stock gifts by shareholders, appraisals prepared by SCS Management have achieved the standard of being used and accepted by the Appellate Conferee of the IRS. A few of our accomplishments in the valuation field also include serving on the Valuation Advisory Committee of the ESOP Association of America, authoring and publishing numerous articles on valuations, mergers and "leverage" buyouts (LBO's), and testifying as an expert witness before the Internal Revenue Service on appraisal issues.
